Just one of those days...

It started wonderfully...

Preface: We went, as a family, out to the woods in our snow gear to cut down the perfect tree. We got home and set it up and that's when it started...

Husband: bad mood
O: tired and grumpy and naughty
H: exhausted and crying
Me: wanting to spend the next hour decorating the tree as a family with Christmas music playing and husband and wife loving and children minding

Not to be

Husband: went to grocery store
O: conked out on his bed
H: took a nap
Me: decorated the tree for an hour by myself

Since O slept in the afternoon he didn't go to bed at bedtime.
He was still up at 11:30pm

Husband: angry and tired and had to get up at 5am
O: running through the house with flashlight, climbing in the pantry to get a "snack"
H: sound asleep- thank the Lord
Me: headache, tired, upset, ready to duct tape O's door shut

Resulting in very sleepless night...

Then today:

6:30am- beautifully decorated Christmas tree falls down breaking glass ball ornaments and leaving shards of glass all over floor.
6:30am- in walks husband because he forgot something- thank you again, LORD!
6:30am O and H wake up because of crashing tree

So, I am trying to vacuum up the glass but the vacuum is not sucking anything up so I try to use the dust buster and get as much as I can
Put shoes on the boys so they didn't cut their feet open

Trying to fix vacuum with no success
Wondering if we are going to have to buy new vacuum which we cannot afford to do right now
You know, Christmas and everything
Have to redecorate tree

Finally realized the hose was plugged into the side of the vacuum. No wonder it wouldn't suck anything. Funny huh? I laughed and then vacuumed. Off came the shoes. Tree got redecorated. Don't have to buy a new vacuum. Get to have a date with husband tonight. Life is good. What a day.

Oh friend...I am sorry it was not as you dreamed...sadly not much is! I am glad it worked out and I am sure the tree is beautiful. Someday you will tell the boys the story of the tree falling down and they will laugh. We still tell the story of the turkey falling on the floor and laugh.
have a fabulous Christmas!!!
