Promised Faithfulness

"I will sing of mercy and justice; to you, O LORD, I will sing praises.
I will behave wisely in a perfect (blameless) way.
Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set nothing wicked (worthless) before my eyes;
I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.
A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.
Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy;
The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, him I will not endure.
My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me;
He who walks in a perfect (blameless) way, he shall serve me.
He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He whol tells lies shall not continue in my presence.
Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD."

A Psalm of David (Psalm 101)

Although this could be seen as quite harsh, this psalm could've come from a mother's heart. Just as David felt passionaltely and cared deeply about his subjects and his kingdom, so a mother cares deeply for her children. A mother wants her house to be a place that is safe, healthy, and full of the spirit of God. She knows it starts with her. She must have a heart after God's heart and a prayer life that covers her home with love and protection. She must not allow evilness to enter or try to steal her children away. She must teach her children to flee from wickedness and worthless things, to be kind to people and each other, to walk with integrity, to serve others as well as their family members, to be humble, to be wise. She must start early on in her children's lives in order to give them a firm foundation to learn to make their own decisions on. Her life is the example by which her children will develop their relationship with the Lord. Her praises, her mercy, her justice, her wise behavior, her devotion to the Most High God, her constant reminders about God's faithfulness.

Some just thoughts, others are convictions, on what it is to be a mom. What an amazing responsibility God has given us as moms. He must trust us a lot.
